Upon your arrival at the Indore Airport or Railway Station, our representative will warmly welcome you and facilitate your smooth transfer to the holy city of Ujjain (approx. 1.5 to 2 hours drive). After checking into your hotel and freshening up, step out in the late afternoon to visit the magnificent Mahakal Lok Corridor. Stroll through this beautifully illuminated architectural marvel detailing Lord Shiva’s tales. In the evening, visit the Mahakaleshwar Temple for your first darshan of the Jyotirlinga. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Ujjain.
Wake up before dawn to experience the highly revered Mahakal Bhasma Aarti, a powerful and spiritually awakening ritual unique to this Jyotirlinga (advance booking required). After the divine experience, return to your hotel for breakfast. The rest of the day is dedicated to exploring Ujjain’s ancient spiritual sites. Visit the Kal Bhairav Temple, where liquor is uniquely offered to the deity. Continue to Harsiddhi Mata Temple (a sacred Shaktipeeth), Mangalnath Temple (the birthplace of Mars), Sandipani Ashram, and the serene Ram Ghat along the Shipra River. Overnight stay in Ujjain.
After a hearty breakfast, check out from your Ujjain hotel and embark on a scenic drive to the tranquil, Om-shaped island of Omkareshwar (approx. 3.5 to 4 hours). Upon arrival, check into your hotel. Head out to visit the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga situated gracefully on the island, and the Mamleshwar Temple located on the opposite bank of the Narmada River. You can take a holy dip in the sacred waters, enjoy a peaceful boat ride, and walk the spiritual Parikrama path around the island. In the evening, witness the soul-stirring Narmada Aarti. Overnight stay in Omkareshwar (or nearby Indore).
Wake up to the peaceful chants and morning breeze of the Narmada River. After breakfast, check out of your hotel and drive towards Indore. If time permits before your departure flight or train, enjoy a brief sightseeing tour of Indore, including a visit to the famous Khajrana Ganesh Temple to seek blessings for a safe journey home. Afterward, our driver will drop you off at the Indore Airport or Railway Station, concluding your divine Jyotirlinga pilgrimage with a heart full of peace and beautiful memories.
Yes, traditional Indian attire is strongly recommended out of respect for the sacred sites. For regular darshan, modest clothing covering shoulders and knees is required. However, if you are attending the Mahakal Bhasma Aarti in Ujjain, there is a strict mandatory dress code: men must wear a traditional Dhoti (without a shirt/kurta) and women must wear a Saree.
Bhasma Aarti is highly sought after and requires advance booking. While it is not included in the standard package, devotees must book it online through the official Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee website well in advance, or try for the limited offline quota a day prior. Our local representative can guide you on the process, but direct booking by the devotee using a valid ID is mandatory.
The most pleasant time to visit Ujjain and Omkareshwar is during the winter months, from October to March, when the weather is cool and comfortable for walking and temple queues. The monsoon season (July to September) offers lush green surroundings and beautiful river views, but heavy rains can sometimes affect parikrama routes. Summers (April to June) can be extremely hot in Madhya Pradesh.
