Upon your arrival at the Cochin (Kochi) Airport or Railway Station, our representative will warmly welcome you. From there, embark on a scenic 4-hour drive up into the Western Ghats towards Munnar. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful views of the cascading Cheeyappara and Valara Waterfalls, as well as the sprawling spice plantations. Upon reaching Munnar, check into your hill resort, breathe in the crisp, tea-scented mountain air, and spend the rest of the evening relaxing at your leisure.
After a hearty breakfast, head out for a full day of sightseeing in the misty highlands of Munnar. Start with a visit to Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and lush green rolling hills. Next, visit the picturesque Mattupetty Dam, where you can opt for a scenic boat ride, followed by a stop at the famous Echo Point. In the afternoon, wander through the manicured tea estates and visit the Tea Museum to learn about the region’s rich tea-making heritage. Return to your resort in the evening for a cozy overnight stay.
Following breakfast, check out of your Munnar hotel and take a beautiful drive down to the tranquil backwaters of Alleppey. Upon arrival around noon, step aboard your traditional, private houseboat. As the boat gently glides through the intricate network of palm-fringed canals, lakes, and lagoons, you will be treated to authentic Kerala meals prepared freshly by the onboard chef. Spend the afternoon watching the rustic village life float by, witness a stunning backwater sunset, and enjoy a romantic dinner before sleeping on the water.
Wake up to the peaceful sounds of the backwaters and enjoy a traditional Kerala breakfast on your houseboat. After a morning cruise, check out at 9:00 AM and meet your driver. Depending on your departure schedule, you may have time for a quick heritage tour of Fort Kochi to see the iconic Chinese Fishing Nets and St. Francis Church. Afterward, you will be transferred directly to the Cochin Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey, carrying beautiful memories of God’s Own Country.
In standard Deluxe Houseboats, the air conditioning in the bedrooms is typically turned on only during sleeping hours (from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM) while the boat is anchored. If you prefer a Premium or Luxury Houseboat with full-time day-and-night AC, please let us know during booking so we can upgrade your package.
The most popular time to visit Kerala is during the winter season (September to March) when the weather is cool, dry, and perfect for sightseeing. The monsoon season (June to August) is also a beautiful time for nature lovers who want to experience the lush greenery and Ayurvedic wellness retreats.
Yes, our private houseboats are completely safe and family-friendly. They navigate very calm, still waters and are equipped with standard safety gear (life jackets). The staff is also available onboard at all times. However, we do advise parents to keep a close eye on young children while on the open deck.
